Reality orientation is a method of working with confused elderly
people through activities which stimulate the person into re-learning
basic facts about themselves and their environment.
Proposed Activities
Reality Orientation: Memory games and quizzes, number games,
orientation exercises object recognition, reminiscence work, physical
exercises and games, cooking, sewing and sensory stimulation.
Social Activities: Singing, dancing, cards, darts, dominoes, outings.
Leisure Activities: Knitting, crochet, and other arts and crafts. In addition there is a computer centre.
Self Care: Hairdressing, chiropody, manicure, dental
hygiene etc. |
When is the centre open
We are open Monday to Friday from 10am to 5pm. Transport is
provided and the minibus will begin to collect members from 9am and
return home by 6pm.
How Much Does it Cost?
For thoses needing physical assistance the cost dependfs on their financial
state and how much supplementary benefit the coucil is prepared to pay. It may cost nothing. |
